Three IPAs, Three Awards – Red Racer Cleans Up at the 2016 Vancouver Magazine International Beer Awards

Central City Brewers & Distillers have been long recognized as leaders in BC Craft Beer. The Red Racer Brand has received accolades in regional, national and international competitions starting when the brewery first opened in 2003. The Red Racer brand has become synonymous with quality craft beer and more particularly hoppy beers.

At the 2016 Vancouver Magazine Craft Beer Awards Central City Brewers & Distillers was awarded not one or two but three awards for India Pale Ale Style Beers. The all new Red Racer Super Stellar IPA took first place in the IPA category while the classic Red Racer IPA took third place. Additionally in the Strong Beer category the Red Racer Imperial IPA also won a gold medal.

With three IPAs in the Central City roster of beers and three awards won, Brewmaster Gary Lohin was ecstatic. “We have always brewed the beers that we want to drink and the IPA is front and centre. The Red Racer IPA is a personal favourite and launching the Super Stellar was a way to offer a lighter, more sessionable IPA. To win a gold medal for the Imperial IPA is icing on the cake. We at Central City love IPAs and it means a lot to receive this recognition for all of our IPA beers.”

While the Red Racer IPA and Red Racer Imperial IPA have been in the market for several years and have claimed many prestigious awards this is the first major award for the Super Stellar IPA a mere two months after its launch.

The Red Racer Imperial IPA is available in 650ml bottles, the Red Racer IPA in 473ml cans and 6x355ml cans and the Super Stellar IPA can be purchased in 473ml cans.
