Central City’s ‘Thor’s Hammer’ Barley Wine won Gold this past Saturday, May 27, at the 2017 Canadian Brewing Awards & Conference, in the Barley Wine-Style Ale – English-Style category.

The Canadian Brewing Awards is Canada’s national competition for judging the quality of Canadian manufactured beer and ciders. The Canadian Brewing Awards invites Canadian majority-owned breweries and cideries of all sizes to compete in a Beer Judge Certification Program (BJCP) sanctioned blind tasting determining the best beers and ciders in over 60 style categories. A Canadian Brewing Award medal is a widely recognized symbol of Canadian brewing excellence.
