FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Red Racer Beer of the Year Gary Zak AwardsSURREY, BC – Red Racer After Hours Old Fashioned Cocktail Pale Ale took top honours at the 2019 Canadian Brewing Awards as Canada’s Best Beer.

After Hours is an innovative beer that infuses Central City Brewers + Distillers’ award-winning Lohin McKinnon Single Malt Whisky, Double-Gold award-winning Bitters by Christos, and real orange essence into a pale ale style beer that evokes the flavours and aromas of a classic Old Fashioned cocktail.

“Winning Gold and Beer of the Year for After Hours reinforces Red Racer’s place at the top of the Canadian brewing landscape,” says Gary Lohin, Brewmaster at Red Racer.  “These honours show that our whole team continues to push the boundaries in craft beer, just as we did 15 years ago when we started at our brewpub, and 10 years ago when we won our first Beer of the Year award.”

Red Racer Pils also took home the Bronze award in the European Lager (Pilsner) category while the Ocean Playground Belgian Tripel, a collaboration with Tatamagouche Brewing Co. from Nova Scotia, won Bronze in the Belgian Tripel category.  Ocean Playground is one of 12 beers available in the 2019 Across the Nation Collaboration, Red Racer’s annual mixer pack with 12 beers made in collaboration with 12 craft breweries from across Canada.

Find Canada’s Best Beer, Red Racer After Hours at private retail stores in BC and Alberta as well as on draught at select locations in both provinces.  After Hours will soon be available in Ontario at LCBO locations.
