SURREY, BC – Central City Brewers + Distillers, started distilling in 2013, 10 years after opening their original Surrey, BC based brewery. After 5 years of distilling, Central City has made waves with their Lohin McKinnon Whisky and Queensborough Gin brands. These brands have quickly been recognized as premium, high quality spirits and Central City Brewers + Distillers has quickly risen to be among the most awarded distilleries in Canada.

Barely a year after being launched, Lohin McKinnon whiskies have been acclaimed with the Award of Excellence Innovation and a silver medal at the Canadian Whisky Awards as well as earning a gold medal from the Canadian Artisan Spirit Competition. Lohin Mckinnon Whiskies have also been rated 89 points by the Jim Murray Whisky Bible, 87 points by Distiller.com, and 87 points by Whisky Advocate.

Central City’s Queensborough Gin has received high accolades in 2018 including a gold medal from the Canadian Artisan Spirit Competition. This recent award adds to the recognition from 2 double gold medals received in 2017, one at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition and another at the San Diego International Spirits Competition.

Queensborough Gin’s early double gold success inspired the creation of a new line of naturally flavoured Queensborough Gin TWST & Queensborough Gin FZZZ ready to drink cocktails. The first flavour developed in the series, Queensborough Gin TWST Lime + Cucumber + Mint won the Best of Show platinum award at the 2018 World Beer competition in the ready to drink category.
