Central City Releases Special #Canada150 Limited Anniversary Edition Lohin McKinnon Lightly Peated & Malted Rye Whisky  

A unique combination of lightly peated & malted whisky, aged in Orloroso Sherry & Bourbon barrels

Surrey, BC – Following the highly successful launch of their first Lohin McKinnon single malt whisky, Central City Brewers + Distillers has released a special Lohin McKinnon 150^th Anniversary Edition; a #Canada150, limited edition, lightly peated & malted rye whisky, to celebrate the country’s momentous milestone.

The Lohin McKinnon 150^th Anniversary Edition is hand-crafted in BC and is a blend of malted Canadian rye whisky aged in bourbon barrels, and lightly peated barley whisky aged in Orloroso sherry barrels.

Barley malt is dried over a peated-fire; a staple in Scotland, which gives the barley malt its smoky flavour. The liquid has a beautiful reddish-gold appearance and a deep and welcoming caramel aroma, with light smoky character that balances the sophisticated melding of malt and rye. A coating and pleasant mouth-feel leads into slightly sweet and peppery character, while complex fruit and wood notes add depth on the palate. This unique blend of styles pays tribute to the joined heritage and long history of Scottish influence, woven into the fabric of this amazing country.
