New Beer League contest brings Gary Lohin out of the brewery to play with one ‘lucky’ Canadian beer league team
SURREY, BC July 12, 2018 – In celebration of upsizing to 500mL cans Beer League Craft Brewed Lager is bringing brewing legend Gary Lohin out of the brewery for a chance to play with one group of passionate baseball players.
“There’s no feeling like brewing a great beer that resonates with our customers” said Gary Lohin, Canadian brewing legend and amateur sports enthusiast. “It’s hard to believe we’ve been using small cans for so long, and I am excited to celebrate our move to 500mL cans and give back to fans who are as passionate about drinking beer as they are about sports.”

Starting today, beer league baseball teams and baseball fans alike can enter the contest by making Gary an offer on why they deserve to play with a brewer using the hashtag #NoProsInBeerLeague, following @BeerLeagueBrew and tagging @BeerLeagueBrew on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook. The winning submission will be selected based on (1) Creativity and originality, (2) Quality, and (3) Relevance to show how far a team would go to sign their brewing and beer drinking idol.
“Beer league baseball teams across the country get together with friends every week to play ball, and maybe even hit a few big home runs,” said Dustan Sept, Director of Marketing, Central City Brewers & Distillers. “So putting more beer in larger cans for the same low price is the perfect way to celebrate beer league baseball across the country with one of the biggest names in Canadian craft brewing.”
Beer League is known for celebrating the most memorable moments in amateur sports. From the 6-packs to the 15-packs, Beer League has been keeping amateur sports fans swinging for the fences inning by inning. “My own batting average is similar to the alcohol content of Beer League Craft Lager,” says Lohin, “Although 5% may not be the best at home plate, a 5% Beer League is great on the bench or after the game, and that is definitely worth celebrating. Especially when it comes in a bigger can!”
This contest is open to residents of Canada, excluding Quebec, who are at least 19 years of age. Contest closes on July 24, 2018 at 11:59 p.m. EST. The winning submission will be announced on July 25. The game day will be decided at a later date.
