Central City Partners with Surrey Firefighters Charitable Society for Autism Research

April is Autism Awareness month and Central City Brewers + Distillers is teaming up this year with the Surrey Firefighters Charitable Society in support of autism research.

Autism now affects 1 in 64 children in Canada with boys being four times more likely to have autism than girls.  It is the fastest growing developmental disorder with 1% of the world’s population affected by Autism.

Every year Red Racer brings out a special beer dedicated to supporting autism research.  This year every specially-marked 12 pack of Red Racer Reign of Hops purchased during Autism Awareness Month will support autism research through a $2 donation by Red Racer.  Look for these special boxes in stores across BC, Alberta, and Manitoba.

The Surrey Firefighters Charitable Society is an organization that is committed to supporting the community through fundraising for local causes. As two Surrey, BC-based organizations, a partnership between Surrey Firefighters Charitable Society and Red Racer is a natural fit that will help propel the Autism Awareness message to even greater heights.

All funds raised through the Red Racer Autism Awareness Program help fund research into the use of technology in early detection of autism to help families get support earlier in life. This research seeks to shrink the time for a diagnosis from years down to days, or even minutes through advanced technology, mathematical models, and artificial intelligence.

Central City Brewers + Distillers and the Surrey Firefighters Charitable Society are dedicated to supporting Autism research in Canada.  Since 2013 more than $800,000 has been raised and donated towards better understanding Autism.  Through the partnership with the Surrey Firefighers Charitable Society the goal is to bring this amount to over $1M.
