Marketing & Events Assistant

Brewery

The Marketing Assistant is responsible for execution of events and marketing initiatives within BC and across Canada. The role involves assisting with social media, sales support and customer communication. The Marketing Assistant is an independent thinker and self-starter that can work well in teams and on their own. This role requires someone who has a professional demeanor, is passionate about craft beer, cider and spirits, and is able to travel while working some evenings and weekends as required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with marketing team to plan and execute events and festivals.
  • Provide sales support in the form of tastings and merchandising when required.
  • Work with marketing team on social media execution.
  • Be an ambassador within the craft beer, cider and spirits industry.
  • Coordinate the delivery of sales support materials to sales team.
  • Provide administrative support in all marketing department tasks such us:
  • Updating and maintaining the marketing department’s documentation and databases.
  • Assisting in inventory control of marketing merchandise.
  • Coordination of marketing materials for retail promotion.

QUALIFICATIONS/DESIRED ATTRIBUTES

  • Post-secondary education in business or marketing an asset.
  • One year experience in a marketing support role.
  • Knowledge of craft beer, cider & spirits.
  • Event planning and execution experience an asset
  • Must have a class 5 driver’s license with clean record.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Must be able to lift up to 49lbs
  • Evening and weekend work required
  • Office based position with seasonal event work required

Brewhouse Operator/Brewer – Graveyard Shift

Brewery

Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring of automated brewhouse to ensure production of consistent, high quality work.
  • Adherence to all documentation practices and quality standards.
  • All aspects of yeast management.
  • Cleaning and sanitation of fermentation vessels, yeast brinks, and brewhouse vessels.
  • Bulk malt receiving, and milling operations.
  • Other duties as dictated by production requirements.

Desired Attributes:

  • Prior experience in production brewery setting.
  • Familiarity with brewhouse software platforms would be advantageous.
  • Internationally recognised brewing qualification (e.g. IBD, Herriot Watt, Siebel, UCD).
  • Demonstrable passion for craft beer.
  • Ability to meet the requirements of this physically demanding role, i.e. strength to repeatedly lift 25kg bags, mobility to work in tight places, willingness to work in hot/cold/humid/dry conditions, vitality to remain standing and on the move for 8 hours etc.
  • Excellent time management, and ability to multi-task.

Cellarperson/Packaging Operator/Brewer’s Assistant

Expected Duties:

  • Small format packaging (bottling, canning) operations
  • Kegging/casking operations
  • CIP/sanitation operations
  • Filtration/transfer operations
  • Barreling/blending operations
  • Assisting Brewing and Quality departments as required

Desirable Attributes:

  • Prior experience in production brewery setting.
  • Familiarity with automation platforms would be advantageous.

Liquor Store Cashier

Surrey LRS

Central City Liquor Store is looking for someone to join our team. We are currently looking for someone part-time (2-3 days a week), however, this could eventually turn in to something more full-time. You must be 19 years of age or older, and hold a valid ‘Serving It Right’ license. You must also be willing to work evenings and weekends (3 PM until 11:30 PM).
The successful applicant is someone who is able to:
• work in a high stress environment
• work at a fast pace
• work well within a team and by themselves
• take initiative to do things without being asked
• give great customer service
• understand/communicate effectively in English
• have a full understanding of cashier and related duties
• lift up to 50Lbs

Warehouse Co-Packing

Brewery

The position of Warehouse Co-Packing/Worker is responsible for all aspects of warehouse functions, including the co-packing, labeling, sorting, receiving, storing, handling, shipping and preparing of product for customer delivery, while maintaining the warehouse in a safe and orderly fashion.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Receives material coming into the building by vendors, customers, or other warehouses accurately and promptly.
  • Verifies the quantity and description of materials received by checking merchandise against the packing list.
  • Examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items. Appropriately report/record any discrepancies.
  • Co-Pack items and products based on business requirements.
  • Assembles and fills orders to be shipped to customers.
  • Preparation of all shipping documentation if required
  • Ensure warehouse/equipment is maintained and placed in designated area.
  • Able to identify product by size, type, style, color or product code.
  • Solid reading skills – must be able to read orders/match orders on shipping tickets to items picked.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Warehouse and distribution.
  • Ability to lift up to 49lbs.
  • Forklift licence an asset
  • Basic math skills and reasoning skills.
  • Ability to understand and execute instructions.
  • General understanding of the warehouse and footprint.
